Centre for Teaching and Educational Technologies

Since 1996, Royal Roads University (RRU) has delivered online courses on our own proprietary software in order to meet our mandate:

“To excel at the provision of continuous learning for people in the workplace”.

Our success with courses for our learners led to interest from the corporate sector in our instructional design skills and customized learning tools. In response, the university conceived and developed tools that would complement each other while delivering specific learning outcomes.

The Centre for Teaching and Educational Technologies (CTET) coordinates the design and development of all academic courses at RRU, and collaborates with a variety of external clients. We recognize that many excellent classroom instructors have neither extensive experience with effective on-line learning, nor the substantial computer skills needed by most course development packages. Our products and services enable your instructors and training staff to:

  • Concentrate their time and knowledge on the course content;

  • Decrease their development learning curve - no knowledge of HTML or other programming language is required;

  • Dynamically change the course content at any time; and

  • Re-use objects (text, images, videos etc.) from the shared course object library.
